Sicilian eastern coast – From Catania to Taormina and back in three days
Three-day charter on a sailing boat to navigate along the Sicilian north Ionian coast. You will admire the “Riviera dei Ciclopi” with the Medieval Castle of Acicastello, the naturalistic reserve of Acitrezza and mythologic Cyclops’ Islands, the Timpa di Acireale, an imposing volcanic cliff, and then swim in the Santa Tecla Bay. You will discover “Baia di Taormina”, the uniqueness of “Isola Bella” and the wonderful Grotta Azzurra. While navigating, you will learn the basics of sailing and some curiosities and legends about our land.
Tips
Remember that the skipper will always be on board with you for the entire charter.
We suggest you to bring your own swimsuit, a beach towel and sunscreen lotion. Wind jackets and hats can be needed since it could be windy while sailing.
If you think you can suffer from seasickness we suggest you to take pills and patches before the tour. If you don’t have the equipment required we will provide you with the necessary, ask for it when you book.

1st Day - See the mythological Cyclops’ Islands on your way to Taormina
Once you meet the skipper you will get on board on one of our boat. (Remember that the skipper will always be on board with you for the entire charter). Get on board at 10:00 am you will start sailing to Acitrezza, you will pass under the medieval castle of Acicastello observing the characteristic “pillow lavas” found under the castle and due to the rapid cooling of submarine eruptions; then you will visit the naturalistic area of Acitrezza and mythological Cyclops’ Islands. Lunch will be at the anchor in the bay of Capomulini right in front of the lighthouse. In the afternoon you will start sailing to “Porto dell’Etna” of Riposto. The Timpa di Acireale will be the scenery of the first part of the navigation, then the Santa Tecla bay ( where you will have another swim) and the coast “Riviera dei Limoni” marked by many medieval small fortresses.

2nd Day – Isola Bella and the marvelous Grotta Azzurra
You will sail from “Porto dell’Etna” to Taormina discovering the Baia di Giardini Naxos, most northern volcanic coast, the “Isola Bella” and the wonderful "Grotta Azzurra", the "Baia di Mazzarò", and the "Baia di Spisone" famous for his amazing 5 stars hotel Atlantis Bay, so well integrated with the nature. ,During the sunset you will enjoy the magic of all the colors that the coast can offer. Night on board at the anchor in the Capo Villagonia Bay right below the Taormina village.

3rd Day - Relax and sail on your way home
Sailing to return to the Port of Catania; during this trip you will live relaxing moments seeing the places visited during the outward journey and enjoying the wonderful Sicilian northern Ionian coast characterized by lava rocks and deep blue waters.
After becoming familiar with sailing in the first 2 days, in this third day you can experiment yourself what you have learned.
During the return trip you can take a swim in the open sea. You will be back in Catania around 6.00 p.m.
